About the Tournament

The MWA–Thailand International Open returns for its 49th edition this July 11-24, once again bringing top-tier international bowling to the heart of Bangkok. Hosted at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl, the tournament is sanctioned by both the Asian Bowling Federation and the International Bowling Federation, and also serves as an Asian Ranking Tournament — a key stop for elite players across the region.

The tournament features a full lineup of divisions, including the prestigious Men’s and Women’s Open Masters, Grade A categories, and a combined Youth U21 division.

In the Open Masters, bowlers must first complete 15 qualifying games across three blocks. The top performers—along with select local and international seeds and Desperado qualifiers—advance through multiple rounds of six-game blocks. The top six then face off in a stepladder final, with the No. 1 seed holding the right to a re-challenge if defeated in the final match.

In addition to the Open division, Grade A Masters offer competitive fields for emerging talent, with finalists determined over 8 games. The Youth Under 21 division, open to both boys and girls, also crowns its champions after an 8-game final round featuring 21 top qualifiers.

With a total prize fund of 70,000 Euro, including a top prize of 9,150 Euro, the Thailand International Open continues to stand out as one of Asia’s premier international bowling events—combining high-level sport with the energy and hospitality of Bangkok, one of the most vibrant cities in the world.
