About the Tournament

The European Bowling Championship of Champions (ECC) will be held from 22 to 25 October 2025 at Plus Bowling Center in Vienna, Austria. This annual event, organized by the European Bowling Federation (EBF), is open exclusively to the reigning national champions from each member federation. In cases where a champion is unavailable, federations may nominate the runner-up or next highest finisher.

The tournament features separate men's and women's divisions, with each athlete bowling 24 qualifying games, divided into three 8-game blocks. One of these blocks is played as Mixed Doubles (if a federation fields both a male and female athlete). Medals are awarded based on total scores in that block—no additional Mixed Doubles final is held.

Final Format Overview:

  • Top 12 athletes from qualifying advance to Final Step 1 (8 more games, scores carried forward).
  • Top 4 from Final Step 1 advance to Step 2 (head-to-head matches: 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3).
  • Winners meet in a best-of-three match in Final Step 3 to determine the champion.

Athletes are seeded based on prior results, and all match play is conducted using the dual-lane style. Standard EBF rules apply for match order and positioning.
