About the Tournament

The 2026 edition of the MOTIV AIK International Tournament returns to Bowl-O-Rama in Stockholm, Sweden, from December 26, 2025, to January 6, 2026. As one of Scandinavia’s largest and most prestigious international bowling competitions, the event will once again welcome players from across Europe and beyond, with a total prize fund of €45,600 and a winner’s share of €5,500.

The format begins with a 6-game qualification phase, open to both entries and re-entries. A total of 94 athletes will qualify for the final stages based on overall standings.

In Final Step 1, 48 athletes compete over 6 games starting from scratch. The top 24 move on to Final Step 2, carrying their scores forward. Another 6 games await in Step 2, after which the top 12 advance to Final Step 3, again with scores carried over. This penultimate round features 4 more games before the field narrows to the top 3.

The final champion is crowned through two stepladder matches, both starting from scratch. The second- and third-ranked players face off in the first match. The winner then meets the top seed in a final showdown for the title.

In addition to the main competition, a unique Joint B Final gives another opportunity for athletes across four categories: women, seniors, juniors, and bowlers with an average below 200. The six highest-ranked players in each of these categories, who did not reach Final Step 1 or 2, will play a separate 6-game series for their own titles and prizes.

Beyond the lanes, the MOTIV AIK International offers more than just world-class bowling. Held in the Swedish capital during the holiday season, the tournament invites visitors to experience Stockholm in all its winter charm. With its twinkling lights, cozy cafés, historic architecture, and frozen waterfronts, Stockholm transforms into a magical cityscape in December and January.

From traditional Christmas markets to modern Nordic cuisine and cultural landmarks like the Vasa Museum or Old Town (Gamla Stan), the city offers a memorable backdrop for this celebrated event.
