About the Tournament

The U22 Fukuoka Summer Cup returns for its 8th edition this August, hosted at Papio Bowl in Fukuoka, Japan. This international open tournament invites youth bowlers aged 22 and under, with the goal of developing the next generation of bowling talent across Asia. Since its inaugural event in 2016, the tournament has seen participation from hundreds of young bowlers representing multiple countries and regions.

The 2025 edition promises high-level competition once again, supported by STORM as the official sponsor. Prize money will be awarded to the top 16 finalists, alongside a variety of bowling-related gear provided by supporting partners. The event will also be streamed live on the JBC Fukuoka YouTube channel and the U22 official Facebook page, allowing fans around the world to follow the action.


Tournament Format

  • Qualifying Round: 8 games
  • → Top 48 bowlers advance to Semi-final
  • Semi-final: 4 games
  • → Top 12 bowlers (based on 12-game total) advance to Final Rounds

Final Rounds – Single-Game Knockout Format:

  • Round 1: 12 players face off in head-to-head matches
  • Round 2: 6 winners from Round 1 compete
  • Round 3: 3 winners bowl one game; lowest score is eliminated
  • Championship Match: Final 2 compete in one game for the title


As one of the few major youth bowling events in Japan with international participation, the Fukuoka Summer Cup offers not only competitive experience but also visibility for rising stars in the sport. With strong support from Japan Bowling and industry partners, the 2025 edition is set to build on its legacy of fostering high-level youth competition in Asia.
