About the Tournament

The XIII Open City of Torrevieja returns to the sunny coast of Alicante, Spain, bringing one of the most established international bowling competitions in the region. Hosted at Ozone Bowling Torrevieja, the event offers a total prize fund of €13,200, with €3,000 awarded to the champion.

Organized by Club Euro Bowling Torrevieja, this tournament is part of the EBF calendar and welcomes bowlers from across Europe and beyond.

The tournament begins with 6-game qualification blocks (entries and re-entries), with 32 athletes advancing to the finals. Qualification spots are awarded as follows:

  • 26 from the general standings
  • 4 from a separate early squad standing (squads 1–12)
  • 2 from the desperado squad

Each player advances from one category only (A–B–C), and substitutions are made in case of multiple qualifications.

Finalists carry forward 50% of their highest qualification score into the first final step. From there, the structure is as follows:

  • Final Step 1: All 32 bowlers play 4 games. The top 16 advance, with scores carried forward.
  • Final Step 2: These 16 bowl 3 additional games, continuing to carry forward scores. The top 8 move on.
  • Final Step 3: The top 8 face off in a 7-game round robin format, with bonus pins (30 for a win, 15 for a draw). The overall winner is determined by total pinfall including bonuses.

With its competitive structure, Mediterranean location, and strong prize pool, the XIII Open City of Torrevieja promises to once again be a highlight on the European bowling calendar.
